Hello All!
Wondering if anyne has tried putting 5.25 inch component speakers in the dash bays of the 996?
am i doomed only to 4 inch?
i would love to hear comments form those who have changed out their stock speakers!

5.25" speakers will not fit on the dash. I used a pair of Focal Polyglass 100CV that includes a 4" 2-way and a 1" tweeter. I had to perform some surgery on the stock speaker -- dremeled out the mounting bracket and used it to mount the Focal -- but it wasn't too difficult. It is a tight fit but it does fit (there is enough room in there for the 2-way crossovers too). The Focals sound awesome!

i am thinking about swapping out the old speakers
i only plan on using focals
i already got a pair of 2 way 4 inch coaxials for the rears
i would like to get what you have for the front but would like to see what exacly you had to do....
