Speaker Sizes for a '99 996 C2
Hello everyone,
Interested in knowing what size speakers (aftermarket replacement) the 1999 996 C2 with hi fi package can take in the front dash?
If one buys component speakers, where can you mount the tweeters inside the speaker bay and how difficult is it to do?
Thanks in advance!

4". also if you already have components from the factory, as with the bose or whatever it makes it easy to mount the tweaters. Otherwise you have to dremel out an opening and epoxy the mount. It's really not too difficult. I have a picture of mine here :

Not the best picture and I later siliconed between the gaps instead of the white electrical tape. I bent the corners of the speakers then used the factory little screw to screw them into the side of the housing on the woofers. You must bend the ears if they are square or they will not fit into the cavity of the dash.

thanks for the advice!
so you dremeled an opening for the tweeter and just fit the woofer- cool.
if you have any otherpics- i would love to see them.
how hard was it to run all the wiring from the head unit to the amp, subs, speakers, etc....
i am thinking about doing this myself and am pretty handy but have never doen a project like it.
your ride is pretty sweet.
i like to cf sills
i would suggest that you get the smoked 3rd brake light (led) for the car. i just put my in and it looks awesome. contact alex at sharkwerks (no affiliation- just a good guy)

yeah I have seen the smoked brake light as well. Maybe down the road i will. My car is such a money pit. those pics are old I now have a roll bar in it etc. Doing the wiring is easy you just need to make sure you separate the rca's from the power wires enough so you don't have any noise. Difficult when you run the amp in the front and it goes right by the battery-
