Default What is this wire behind bumper?

Guys,
I was having my car detailed today and the guy asked what the wire was hanging down under my bumper.
It is on the passenger side, there is a grommet going into the car, the wire hangs out about 2 inches, it has a pointed thing on the end. Is it some type of sensor?

Based on your description it could be the temperature sensor.

Outside air temp sensor. It shouldn't hang down, it needs to be snaped back in the grommet.
