Alloy look interior package
Hi,
does anyone have any experience of the Alloy look interior packages you can purchase for the 996. I have seen a few places selling them, and like the look.
Are they easy to fit, durable and so on.
Design911 offer them www.design911.co.uk
At first glance i can't see how I would remove the current facia to replace with these items, but hopefully someone has already been through the process and can advise.
Thanks in advance
Al.

My car has the alu look int package. I installed all the parts myself, I will tell you this be careful of the soft plastic dash and other inter parts, they dent easy,Other then being 100% careful it really is a pretty strait forward job.

Easy to change out except the lower center console which is about 1 hr job.
Upper center console (aka switch surround) comes in different versions depending on your model year. 99-01 are different than 02-04. Other parts are same for 996 all model years.
Personally, I only like the lower console in alu but it scratches easily so I am not changing it out. I'd opt for Porsche factory painted one instead of homemade painted for durability reason. See it in person on another person's car first to help you decide if you like the look.
