Hello,

I am currently looking to buy a 996 engine to put into a boxster. Does anyone have an idea of how much the new crate engines cost and advise on purchasing a remanned engine??

You can't buy a remanned engine without a core exchange.

You need to buy a new one.

A remanned one cost was about $7000 - $8000 with exchange. I don't know the current price.

E bay, and there are junk yards that specialize i P cars. Give them a call.

There were some postings here or perhaps another board RE 3.4 Boxster conversions. may have been on PPBB. Someone sells a turn key package, not installed, in 10 or 11k range as I recall.

You can buy a remanufactured 996 engine without a core. Its about 2500 extra. Should be between $9 and 10K.
