Default Sports seats vs regular seats

I've had my 1999 C4 for 3 weeks and I'm not sure if I'm happy with the sports seats. The right shoulder blade area of my back bothers me after driving, I think it's from the extended "wing" in the sport seat.

Does anyone have any experience comparing the regular seats and the sports seats? I've even recently looked to buy some used regular seats on Ebay, but stopped bidding at 500.00.
If I got different seats do you think their would be a market for my used sports seats? If so, what are they worth?

Thanks guys

If you decide that you want regular seats I would consider trading my regulars seats with you, I'm sure we could come to some arrangement. I have a 99 c2 and my interior is black. What colour are yours?

Drop me a note if interested.

I am amazed at how comfortable the stock seats are. They seem a little higher off the floor and give longer support towards the knee than the ones in my 993.

For some reason the Sport seats are worth more on the eBay and re-sale market but they offer less IMHO. The shoulder blade area is very uncomfortable and there is the lack of power fore/aft. I chose the regular seat with supple leather and full power and couldn't be happier. Not a big fan of the sport seat since it doesn't offer the support it should like the sport seats of old. Go sit in an old 944 sport seat versus the regular and THAT is a difference. Great side bolsters, etc. The 996 sport seat is nothing more than a regular seat with somthing barely touching your shoulder blade in an uncomfortable way. Just my $.02

Sport seats look nice esp w paint backs. However, I dont' think they offer much more support than stock seats.

They are sold around $1500-1700 for a set that is practically unused, $1000-1200 if a little worn but good condition. Stock seats (non powered) are around $700 and powered around $900-1200, dep on condition.

FYI,
My sports seats are Savannah Beige.
It sounds like I may have no problem selling them on Ebay, now I have to find regular seats, any ideas other than Ebay? (I realize I should have bought the ones on Ebay, they went for $510.00)

I had stock seats in my 996 but found them uncomfortable. I'm sure this topic is highly subjective; my sport seats are far more comfortable than my old standard seats. I have a small waist and broad chest/shoulders- I found my upper back was being held away from the upper seatback on the standard seat. However, with the sport seats, my upper back is now supported and the lower bolsters feel a bit deeper too. The shoulder supports push my shoulders forward a bit, but it isn't uncomfortable as both hands are on the wheel. I don't notice any difference in the seat bottom.

Hope this helps!

I think it's merely a case of one size does not fit all. Different seats fit people differently.

Can the older Recaro sport seats used in the 80s 911s be made to fit with different brackets or sliders? those seats appeared to fit everyone with adjustment. I would love to get a set even if they had to be reupholstered.
