The shop I go to has seen two break. They haven't seen any of the other plastic break. That doesn't mean that if you replace this with a metal one, the new "weak link" wouldn't break.

I saw a guy with a TT break one last year at LRP, never since.

Jeff, What is the one on the left? I have a similar one, but I haven't installed it yet. The threaded shaft looks pretty thin to me, but it's still probably stronger than stock. Dan's looks like a better design, I'd be interested in trying it.
Unless I dreamed it the pture of the silver one is from Dan and I thought that was going to be the Authority Power's version of the EVO shift link. Now it looks like the design has been changed to a single piece blue unit. Looks pretty with a B&M.

My only experience is with the red EVO unit.
