I thought i'd give them a try.. They have one expert that does nothing but alignments all day.. Plus a very nice machine.
I figure, they work on these babies all day so it wouldn't be anything new.. I was thinking about intersport but the shop was dark and not as clean.. call me weird but I felt safer dropping it off with HBL.. Oh, and I got a loaner!!!

I can always compare my alignment printout with Rob's right?

Way to go Kurt!

Peter, what are they overcharging you for this?

peter
-.19' camber is pretty minor; minor enough that it shoud have zero impact on tire wear. You can specify a touch more toe out to even out the wear if you like.

I used to run 1.5 to 2.0 deg of neg camber on my old autox gti, and even that didn't have much impact on tire wear as long as I drove it hard.

the tradeoff, since your asking, is a slight decrease in braking traction and in straight line stability (in a perfect system). That said, .19' is giong to have near zero impact. Note that the factory specs -.30' for the x74.

The front suspension has limited camber abilities, at stock height you can barely go negative at all, and your ability to go negative increases as you lower the car. My shop went "max negative" with my alignment, and I think it worked out in the mid -.2x' range.

Dell, they charged 150.. Not bad IMO..

Thanks Mark.. Big brother is watching.. Now you need to teach me how to drive the car the way it was meant to be driven..

Thanks stiles for your inputs.. So toe out will compensate for neg camber huh? Won't that result in slower turn ins?

Would the C4S with the ROW setup use the alignment specs for C4 ROW sport (3rd column)

Surprisingly not. As you go toe OUT, you actually (to a point) get quicker turn-in but straight line stability suffers. I believe my car is at zero toe, just slightly more aggressive than factory.

My comment about compensating for the camber was more about tire wear than handling characteristics.

I installed my row 030 (DIY) last two evenings. Got alignment today at a local shop used by many here in Atl. Here's the alignment data on my car.

those are some pretty crazy settings !

in all seriousness, i've noticed recently that my car sits lower. it took about 2 months and 1000 miles! I was expecting it to only take about 10-15 miles

Smartass.
Had a little uploading problem there.....
My car dropped 5/16" all the way around from the height of the 39,000 mi OEM springs.
Jeff at Grand Tourismo said it should settle some.....

Jeff is the same guy who did mine - did he have you sit in the car with a full tank of gas while he did it?
