Default 911 emblem

You guys and gals that got the 911 emblem; could you have left the Carrera on and mounted it above? Or when you take the Carrera off does it mount above or in same location? Could the logo be shaped (bent) to fit above? Does the year of car matter for emblem? How much $$ ? Last but most important, got pics?

Either Carrera or 911 not both, too long and would look cheezy. I thing the Carrera emblem was redesigned in 2004 but the Carrera boys would know better than me.

I agree with Johannes, keep it simple, use only one. And if your choice is the "911" emblem, be extra careful with the proper alignment. A tiny mistake makes the whole thing look cheesy. Here's some examples: First picture is the rear of my 40th Anniversary, with correct factory installed 911 emblem. Second picture is a DIY job gone wrong on a 997.

John - Eric at BumperPlugs.com has the Silver 911 logo for $50 and the matte Black for $18. You have to click on "Order" at the top of his page to see all of he specific items he carries. The site is a little cumbersom in that way.

Personally I prefer the Carrera logo. I may be wierd but I think there is just something really neat about the word "CARRERA" The OEM Black Carrera did't show up very well on my dark car so I got a Silver one from Eric. Looks much better now, IMO.

Are you thinking black or silver on the 911 logo?

I too like the Carrera emblem but will stick with black as my car is AS. I saw several carbon fiber emblems on the web. I searched Porsche parts and found them so if cf is what your after, search! you'll find it.

Funny this thread came up. I just did this yesterday on my car. I had the silver carrera badge and got it caught on one of my wash rags and ripped part of it up. Only I could notice it but it drove me crazy so I replaced it. Thought I would give the silver 911 a shot. Actually really like it. Picked up mine from Sunset for only $14 !!!

If anybody want to see pics I will gladly run down to the car and snap a quick one.

Wow, the off center pic doesn't look bad until you drew that line.. I think I might be in trouble if you got a hold of my car.. I tried to line it up as centered as possible but who knows..

Where can I get the silver carrera emblem?

Ask and ye shall receive. Sorry about the exposure, the sun is beating down on my garage right now. I included a rear full shot and an up close shot with a line bisecting the middle of the truck lid measure out to make sure it passed the centered test.....it passed

I will take a better pic later when I am in better lighting so you can see the emblem better. It is a beautiful chrome 911 that goes on the 40th. Part number is 996 559 237 05.

Forgot to add...the silver one is Arctic Silver painted, not chrome like the 911. Not sure if you can tell in this one.
