Cool 911 ONLY

Stan,

I'm late on this, but I did this myself when I replaced my whole lid with the GT3.

I put the "911" right where the Carrera would go. I would not put both myself. Here's a pix of it. Our region PCA magazine used the pix for last year's Sept 11 Patriot Day edition.

That emblem I got in the picture is OEM, paid $16 or $18 from eagleday.com early last year. Good luck.

My car came with nothing from the factory on the rear deck. It was ordered that way with the model delete option. A couple of years ago I thought a 911 would look good and installed it in satin black on my A/S car. I've not seen another in the flesh.

The reaction I get from people is interesting in that most are not "Porsche" people. They think that the 911 is the rarest, most expensive and most sought after Porsche and is different than the Carrera that they usually see.

Where can you get the Silver one online? Only one I see is on bumperplugs or Eagleday Chrome for like $180 or Black for $20. I know it doesnt cost $160 to chrome a tiny emblem...

Black would be invisible on my black car. Help!

Prices for the chrome one have sky rocketed over the last year, hell, even the last 6 months, COST on this has gone up, not profit, talk to Eric at Bumpeplugs, he'll explain.....I work at a Porsche Dealer, and his prices are not artificially inflated, believe me....I went with black, my car is silver, though....you could by black, then paint it Silver

I made it in a 996 C2 from a friend of mine
I purchased the rear emblem in Eagleday, but now it's only available in black.

Note: the emblem is provided of a double sticky paper with 4 drills

The best thing to center the emblem, is to measure the distance at the sides and center it with a marker, in the 4 drills.
Then just stick the logo

Before

During ...

After

I will take a better pic later when I am in better lighting so you can see the emblem better. It is a beautiful chrome 911 that goes on the 40th. Part number is 996 559 237 05.

Hey,--I've seen your car before! My friend Paul snapped a shot of it when it was parked outside the clinic at Nellis.

That is too funny Dan! Guilty as charged. Are you talking about Paul the surgeon?

I took my Carrera 4 badge off my 02 Cab. After awhile it looked so plain, so I got this bright idea. Unique and not 'bling.' (factory letters)
