Default Headlight covers 996

Has anyone had experience with these, I like the idea of creating a 993 / 997 main headlight look with the off centre side light, but I'm a little worried they may look tacky or even shrink or chip.

Any comments or picture?

Hamann has them. They just double tape over the factory headlights. Great style. We stock them.

Mine came with the car when I got it 11 months ago. I really am not a fan of cosmetic add-ons, but it grew on me. I like them for them reasons you do. There is a small rock chip on one, no shrinkage.
I want to do the Litronic upgrade and may not put them back on (may not be able to peal them off). It looks okay by itself, but next to other 996s... you be the judge.

My car, JimPDX and Leedav's. Nice shot Jim.

I'm not a fan of cosmetic mods at all, but I had a hard time liking the 996 headlights. I wanted a more classic look. I've been really happy my (glue on) Stroseks.

I really disliked the 996 headlights and wanted something that looked more traditional....figures that the 997 would go back to the same style......Not great pictures, but you get the idea. They actually look great even up close and I have had no issues with them for a couple of years now......

To be honest if i wanted to look like a 993 , or a 997 i would have bought those cars, I think they do not look good on the car at all, if you have them please don't get mad. I think the OEM( not covered) lens flows with the lines of the car....Hey its what i think, it shouldn't mean anything to those that do like them

I was all set to get a 993, then I drove a 996. I still couldn't get used to the exterior looks though, seeing one with the headlight covers sealed the deal. Sounds silly, but I couldn't imagine a 911 w/out round headlights. I guess Porsche agrees. Now that I'm used to them I like the headlights of 3.4l 996 more then the 3.6l style, those do flow with the lines of the car.

kilgrit your comments are kind of funny considering you have a turbo bumper and an old style bonnet.

with you on this one... the headlight covers are not my cup of tea. they don't look good on a 996. IMO
