Default OT: Polarized Protection System (PPS) : Anyone knows about that stuff ?

I was at the Range Rover dealership droping my wife truck when the salesrep pitched me on getting her vehicule treated with PPS. He calims you'll never have to wax it again. He refered to it as permanent paint protection.

HAs anybody ever had their P_Car treated with that stuff ? Anone actually recoomends it.

Thanks for any feedback. Marc

Unhappy

I tend to agree with you guys. I'm just thinking about a product that was discussed on this site. A sort of heavy duty wax that required curing...I can't remember the name so I can't do a search on it to see if it's the same idea.

The "Polarized" part must be the glasses the F & I guy is wearing when he pitches that stuff...easier to lie that way.

I use Rejex on my black car. I love it, the shine is fantastic. It's very easy to apply too. Using good microfiber towels to remove is the key to getting it right.

I have heard it works well on wheels too but haven't tried that yet.

Thumbs down

I don't believe ANY of the so-called "paint sealers" are worth a damn!
A few years ago, I tried a sealer product (Liquid Glass - still on the market) on my non-clearcoated 928. They advertise sealant-type properties as well as the ability to build up "layers" of protection. Well, I applied several layers of the product and a few days later, needed to cleanup some bird droppings. I used a mild (non abrasive) polish and with little rubbing pressure and immediately saw red paint on my cloth. The multiple layers of "glass" were giving up my paint without any fight whatsoever!

I would be willing to bet the more recent products would have the same result.
The clearcoat is the only real paint "sealant" out there!

Its just like the stuff they used to hype back in the mid 70's and 80's. I think it was called perma-shield...for 250.00 a wack. Bogus.

I have to disagree with WCE, sealants like Klasse, Blackfire, etc. last longer than carnuba wax. They are NOT lifetime protection, and will be removed by polish, which is designed to chemically and abrasively clean paint, but offer longer lasting protection than wax. Synthetic or polymer wax is probably a better description. They are by no means a substitute for clear coat.
