Darren, car looks phenomenal. Those rims are amazing, and you don't see many 911's in candy apple red.

PRH, rims look good - I like the chrome lip. Where'd you get them? I want new rims, but don't want to pay a years private school tuiton for them!

I got the rims from Highline Wheels on Ebay.

If you do an ebay search of 18 or 19 Porsche Wheels and you will see a lot of choices from them.

They are not chrome though...They are polished lips with clearcoat. Since my wife drives the car, I didn't want chrome because it's much more involved to fix curb rash. With polished, you can sand it yourself and then buff it.

Here's some with chrome:

These are my second set of replicas, and I just can't understand why anyone would pay for the originals unless they are racing. No one can tell the difference and they look great.

They have several styles in several colors.

I have BBS LM's as well.

Default Need advice

So, my wife has a tendancy towards the fast and furious cars and would like to pimp out the Porsche a little -- as tastefully as possible.

I am thinking vinyl graphics because it's cheap and easy to remove.

Since I don't have photoshop, I did this in PowerPoint.

Anyone have any vinyl graphics suggestions/examples for us? And how come 996s are almost never seen with racing stripes like Vipers, GT40s, etc?

Rick,
The rims came with the car, I think they're probably speedlines?? The lip is just the polished aluminium. The cost of the tyres here in Aust is the scary bit $850 ea(AUD)

The grocery getter is actually that...serves the purpose of a winter beater, daily driver, airport cruiser...and .... .... just a hair faster than the 911....

Default Spring Slush Dirty 996

Here's my dirty 1999 C4.

Driving all winter hasn't been a problem, it's when all that snow melts that it becomes a problem, this slush is nasty stuff. A big truck going the other way made a big mucky splash on me!

I hope it freezes up again this evening so I can get to the car wash!

That is one dirty car! I'd be embarrassed to drive it around like that! I hope it gets some TLC come spring time.

I agree but No choice! it's from 2 days of slush. All cars here look like that today.

Normally she shines.
