That would be fantastic. Did they ever produce a CD for Canada? I know that for 2001, a Canadian CD doesn't exsist.

Just got off the phone with Navtech. There are two "newest" versions of PCM1 cds. 2001.1 from Feb '01 is for pre-2002 MY. 2003.1 from Feb '03 is for 2002 MY. There apparantly was a hardware change made for 2002 that enabled more data, but is not compatible with the PCM1 systems prior to 2002. The 2003.1 disks won't work in pre-2002 cars.

Not true!! The 2003.1 disks work in my 2000 MY. I knew I was told the same thing about them not working so I got the 2001.1 disks from navtech. I then read where the 2003.1 disks would work with an update from the dealer. So I bought a 2003.1 disk and went to a dealer. A tech came out with an update (flashrom?) CD and in about 1 min. updated the system. The 2003.1 disk works fine but the older 2001.1 disks can no longer be read (and I had 6 of those!).
Again, the bottom line is that the 2003.1 disks will work in PCM 1 (with the quick update from a dealer).

I have a 99 Boxster w/PCM1 and could use a copy of the SE CD if anyone has one. Don't really care how old it is, just want something to make the screen go from brown to blue :-) I have a NE and mid-oh CD I can offer in trade.
FYI, I just put the Kenwood DDX-7015 in my 911 without the nav piece, and love it. I have a music keg and sirius and it does just what I want it to. Only gripe is that the Sirius/Keg display is still only one line. It should have been able to accomodate a 4 line display that showed artist/title/station/etc with one view.

I went to Leith Porsche in Chapel Hill, NC. Like you, I was told by navteq that the 2001 was the latest and I purchased the set from them(last Jun). The dealer told me that it could be upgraded and 2003.1 was the latest. I was skeptical because navteq told me it wasn't possible and the renntech chart also said it. But, I purchased a 2003.1 disk for my area and went to the dealer. A tech came out with a CD, loaded it... and after about a minute it was done. The only problem was my old 2001.1 disks could no longer be read and it was too late to return them :-( . Have your dealer call Leith Porsche. I have a 2000 Millennium with PCM 1 and it is definitely running the 2003.1 disk for the SE (anyone want to trade 2003.1 disks for some 2001.1 disks ;-) .
