I want to replace my deck after the gremlins have killed my stock one. My deck has all functions but no volume control. It was a sporadic problem but now its permanent. (99 C2 Cab)
I went to tweeter and they said I would need to rewire to get a nonstock raidio in there. Is this true? What kind of deck should I get?
I want to ditch the useless stock amp and deck and replace it with good stuff. What do you guys recommend? I have about a grand to play with.

Tony - If you are going to be tossing out your deck I would be interested in some of the parts...my deck has the paint coming off on the "power" and "eject" buttons.
You are welcome to the parts if you answer the original question. Do I need to rewire the car or can I get another deck like an alpine and put it in.
You can put in an aftermarket radio and keep the stock wiring if you use a harness adapter. Using a harness adapter is the easiest way to do a mid-price install. If you are going high-end (say $4000-6000 system) you'd be better off rewiring the poser, speaker leads, amp leads, etc with more robust wiring.
The harness can be purchased at Crutchfield, etc, but I as others have advised I would contact Rod Birch at caraudioinnovations.com as all he does is Porsches....he can give you a good bang for buck recommendation for head units and amps plus he indcludes all the necessary parts/adapters for a DIY install.
