Agree with JB. start with the lightest grit you can and work it and see if you can fix the problem. Remember the paint on flexible bumpers is usually formulated differently than the paint on the metal. I'm not familiar with all the brands, just with what worked for me.

You want to hear stupid?

When I was 16 and a new driver I took my Dad's brand (less than 500 miles on the car) new Plymouth out to a construction area down in Burlingame, California where we used to live. There were no houses on the street everything was just being built. Big time empty.

I wanted to see how fast his 318 with a four throat carb could do in a quarter mile. I found a culdusac and backed my rear wheels up against the curb and measured off exactly a quater mile on the odometer.

I turned the car around and lined it up with the quarter mile mark...and punched it. About 100 feet from the curb pushing about 60 I realized that I needed another 200-300 feet to stop the damn thing.

Slamming on the brakes and turning the steering wheel full cocked to the left I slammed drifted sidways into the curb at about 65 MPH. I collapsed both right wheels and pushed the front axel up into an inverted "V" into the engine compartment, exploded the radiator, shredded the fan, bent the block and somehow blew out the rear window passenger side right.

Car totaled. Grounded till I was 30.
