Maybe its just me, but the 987 looks more like a 911 than the 997 from the front. Porsche was fairly unimaginative when they restyled the front of the 997. The retro single light doesnt quite cut it on what is essentially a 996 based beautifully sculpted body. They should have left the late 996 front lights alone and then they would had the perfect car. Who's in charge of styling there anyhow? Rant off.

Too bad I'm working this weekend, jeeva. Potomac is a great group to run with, and it's at my favorite track with 3 days to boot! With the number of DE's you want to attend, though, I'm sure I'll see you sometime . Have fun, be safe, and show up TD for me, will 'ya .

One thing I like about the 987 is how closely it resmbles the Porsche GT front, C4S/914-6. That's one of the first things that attracted me to the new Boxster.

BTW, do you track your 914-6? That wouild be awesome.

Palting,
The 914/6 is a 35 year old restored show car winner now, no track abuse. See it and others here:
http://www.Porsche914MidWestClassic.com

Where are you in Ohio? Bring any one of your fine cars up to the August 6 MidWest Classic and you may take home a trophy in a best non-914 Porsche category. Great rides through our countryside as well and of course a great bunch of Porsche fanatics from all over the MidWest.
regards,
-Richard

Very nice Palting, Congrats - I like the front of the 987 more than the 997.
