Default SPARCO EVO 3 Seat Installed?

Has anyone installed a SPARCO EVO 3 Seat into a 996? I am considering as an alternative to gain a more favorable driving position (more headroom and legroom).

Thanks.

pretty much every non adjustable sparco fits in the 996, i know this firsthand because i had the most space occupying sparco's installed (pista). with the adjustable ones you mite have to shave down the **** because of its proximity to the transmission tunnel.

installation is just like any other seat. sparco makes universal sliders and custom base mounts for the 996 and they can be ordered on their website/just call and order them.

be warned tho: you do sit really low in them. depending on your dimensions and driving style you may not like this as much as stock. have u considered getting 1 GT3 seat for the driver's side? that's the perfect driving height. and looks sextacular with the leather and porsche crest on it.

Actually...the EVO 3 is too wide for the 996. The upper shoulder supports hit the window glass. The widest possible (and I think it's pretty close) is the EVO 2.

r u serious? that seat must be hella wide becuse the pistas had these 2 outward slanting head restraint things and they still cleared the window.

Yep...If you want to have them placed into a Cup car, no problem. You can bolt them directly to the pan. However, in order to get them into a stock street car, some fabrication (i.e. cutting) will be required. There are extra "tabs" in place to raise stock seats to proper heights. This was confirmed to be by a couple Sparco distributors. I guess it all depends on how much cutting you would like to do.

I just sold a EVO2 seat to a customer who is installing it this weekend I believe. His name is carlos and he will be posting pics.

For another alternative there is Recaro as well. If you want more info on sliders, brackets, and seats, let me know!
