normally when someone shows you their skirt you want to take stuff off not put it on!

Nice picture of the skirts, even if they don't blow up over subway street vents.

No, it is very straight forward. The top edge is held on with 3M trim tape, and the bottom is held by 10-12 screws which screw into fasteners that are clipped to the bottom body weld seam. No Drilling is required. The only semi tough part is that on the trailing edge in the rear wheel well, there is a mounting screw under the fender liner, so you have to take off the rear wheel to get the fender liner out of the way. At install time, make sure there is no wax on the paint where you apply the trim tape. Get someone to help you position the flair. Pull the tape protective coating last. Position the flair, put the bottom screws in, get it positioned correctly. The top of the flair should be about a quarter inch below the accent crease on the rear quarter panel behind the door.

One recommendation is that if you put any type of flair on your Porsche, that after you have the flairs painted, take them to someone that does the Stoneguard film, and have the entire flair covered. These things are very soft, and the paint will be ablated away in short order (especially the leading edge that faces the front wheel well) if they are not protected. I have covered mine, and they still look very good. I give this mod a difficulty rating of 7 out of 10.

Thanks. I think if I do it I'll just have a bodyshop do the whole thing. Did you have them painted and wait before having the film applied? If so, how long did you wait?

The paint needs to "cure" about 1-2 weeks before applying the Stoneguard. I would suggest that you have the flairs painted, take them home and let them sit for 2 weeks, then take them to a Stoneguard dealer, have the film installed, then finally take them to a bodyshop for installation. Of have the bodyshop subcontract out the film application for you.

BTW, the Orient Express is Orient Red metallic.
