I absolutely hate SUV's but never would I even consider touching another person's car let alone cause any damage to it in anyway. Somebody keyed a new Mustang of mine a long time ago and I was so pissed I turned blue.
You are right it is a cowardly act. Whoever did it is a total ****.
Insurance does cover it but you have to think about what the deductable is. In the end you might as well just pony up the cash.
My 996 was keyed in the frickin COSTCO parking lot when I was in for only 30 minutes or so. Worst part is that I parked away from others so the car was nowhere near other cars. Somebody had to actually go out of their way to do it. Sick f*cks!
I just talked to my Dad last week and their 1 year old CLK500 was keyed from front to back. The worst part is that it happened 1 day before that were to deliver the car to the new owners that bought it from them!

If you can't buff out the scratches and you're anywhere near L.I. there's Elrich Auto Body in Acquabogue that does the best work on Porsche's. A few years ago a car wash attendant ran my 996 into the back of an SUV and did $2,500 worth of damage. Storms Motors sent me to Elrich. They did such a great job that when I went to trade the car in two years later a number of dealers put micrometers on the repaired sections and could not tell they had been repainted.

Burning is a result of too much friction that causes the body panel to get to hot and changes the color of the paint. Again, if you don't know what you're doing then you can easily burn the paint.
I have decided that either I drive this car, It's parked in my garage, or someone is sitting in it while it's parked. I could not bare to see any damage to my car. It would question my sanity and if I ever found someone F@#king with it. I hope to god they can run really fast because I am probably going to face assualt charges! I have owned Corvettes and Bmw's and nobody has ever messed with them. I guess living in Canada does have a few Advantages. Beer, Polar bears, Whale Blubber, not much crime.......
