Get rid of the Yamaha kit and get a DW Collectors for a start. You are filling up a Porsche here not a Toyota......and yes I have actually used mine several times to transport my kit. But being a cab it makes things a bit easier if the top is down.

????? Yamaha drums kick ***. (owner of cherrywood recording custom & rock tour custom sets).

Gretsch & DW make nice shells, but drums are about hardware too.

I really don't care for Drum Workshop drums believe it or not. After Yamaha, I think I like the Tama stuff best. I've only played a few gigs on DWs, (they weren't mine), but they didn't really feel right for me. I really don't like their mounting hardware either. They make some nice pedals though.

I've owned Slingerland, Gretsch, Pearl (multi concert tom set) and several Yamaha kits. The Yamaha are my favourite, although their bass drums aren't always 'there'.

My Pearl Master's Custom set is fantastic sounding, add Paiste Signature series cymbals and it's all good.
