Default weekend project - headers :) and GHL loud :(

they're in! fabspeed headers and GHL loud mufflers.

engine feels even stronger now. might be a placebo effect but will confirm with a dyno test.

had PSE and was looking for something a tad louder and thought the GHL loud was the ticket. well, other than the nice purr from the GHL, it is actually quieter in the cabin. a little disappointing. GHL has a 30 return policy right ?

had to split the job in two days, had errands to do with the wife. hardest part of the whole job was getting the header to mate up with the cat flange. had to pound it on with a mallet.

looks like this is it for the engine mods. just waiting for the CARB certification on the EVO supercharger now

more pics

Oh, btw mufflers take a while to break in they will get louder after about 200-500 miles.

i used gaskets between the header and cats but not between the header and head. fabspeed states there's no need of gaskets but i bought some just in case. stock header gaskets actually have a smaller opening than the fabspeed headers so i chose not to use them.

Carlos:

Why did you choose this combination of fabspeed headers and ghl exhaust as opposed to fabspeed all or ghl all?

Do you still have your PSE? Do you want to sell it?

Thanks

i didn't like the rumbling/burping sound of the fabspeed. i love the PSE bark so i wanted to get something closer to it AND a little louder and lighter.
