Oh man, that was the most frightening thing we have ever seen. I just had my office come in and see it, "OH MY GOD" was the universal reaction... What a horrible way to die...

^ he lived and got some burnes, sued the event organisers for negligence (support staff were useless and took too long 2 get to him) and was awarded a million yen or so (it was a JGTC competition).

That would be the worst way to die. Fortunately, in this instance, no one did.

Wonder who's brilliant idea it was to race in heavy fog? And what's with the loony bin waving the yellow flag (this is rhetorical) like who's going to see it past those in the tower?

I feel sorry for the guy who surely must have died in the carbeque. -- oops, just re-read above -- wow I can't believe the guy lived!!!

I assume bladder fuel tanks are not required?

I don't think it's foggy. You could see from the lead car that it's all from turbulence spray.. but of course like you said, they should have not run in that conditions

The guy in the Ferrari lived? That is amazing. Sacriest thing I have seen. I thought the clip was over when the P-Car wrecked and I said "that's not that bad" then.........BAM!

I thinnk my BP is still up a bit.

I think I just crapped in my pants.

Damn. Hope both of them lived. Why in the hell were they still running in all that fog?

Eric,
I don't think it was fog; just spray kicked up by cars as previously stated. At the end of the video, it seems fairly clear.
Looks like the guy in the Ferrari swirved when the car in front of him checked up, hit the grass and accelerated.
Interesting, the driver of the Pcar was not wearing a HANS device or other visible H&N restraint.

This race series is similar to some of the serious upper level SCCA events run here, and very few people in those wear a HANS or other head/neck restraint.

You could see too at the very begining of the clip that its clear. Just water from the ground lifted up by turbulence.
