On my 99 996 C4, I have the 6 CD changer and the Becker head with tape (CD-220?, I don't have the car at work). Sometimes the CD changer is not shown as present, so pressing S toggles between tape and FM, but not changer. Then other times it miraculously appears again. When it works it works fine. Any idea where to try and fix this. Lose/weak connections?

when you hit "s" it goes to the last source you used if you hit it twice you should bring up the cd. Doesn't sound like a problem unless I'm misunderstanding you.

If you hit it twice it only toggles between tape and FM, never CD changer. Then some other times, it finds the changer no problem. I is definitely intermittent behavior.
