Painted wheels
Guys,
Just wanted to share a pic of my car, fitted with my track purpose set of stock rims, freshly painted Basalt black and with MPSC tires mounted.
Looks the biz in my opinion.
Pic taken today during Porsche Club UAE trackday.
Ciao,
Johannes E.

Very nice! Do you have a better side shot of the wheels? Close-ups? I am getting mine done (same wheels) and wanted to get a better feel for how it will look black vs. the traditional silver.
Thanks J!

Johannes, you've got a great looking car. I wish Porsche would have built US legal Club Sports!
What track did you run?

Dell,
Here is a close-up. Mind you that the pic is taken after track duty so the rims are not exactly clean.
Color: Porsche Basalt black metallic

Did they take the wheels apart to paint the centers, or did they leave them intact and mask them? I've heard of people doing both, and I'd like to avoid the risk of reassembling them incorrectly...
Thanks

Chad, Don't know the weight of the rims, will try to find out.
Steve, All in all the Clubsport is heavier by a few kilos because of the rollcage and fire extinguisher. The side airbags delete, single mass flywheel and less noise insulation compensates for some of the added weight.
Stiles, Rims were masked prior to painting.

FWIW, Here are some weights. I have both Sport Designs and Carrera 5-spoke wheels for my car. The SD's are very heavy, but they look wonderful and I think they're pretty strong. The one thing I notice is it rides much nicer on the Carreras.
Sport Design Wheels:
996.362.136.50 - 8" x 18" - ET52 - 26.45 lb
996.362.140.50 - 10" x 18" - ET65 - 28.88 lb
Porsche 18" Carrera wheels weigh 9.3 Kg (20.5 lb) and 10.3 Kg (22.7 lb) respectively
