Default Cruise Control Problems

The cruise control on my 99 C2 Cab hasnt worked since I bought it 4 months ago. The green light doesnt go on. Checked the fuses and tailights. Took it to the dealer and told that when they went yo change the coding, they couldnt communicate with the instrument cluster and therefore couldnt program. What does this mean? Any advice would be appreciated.

check the brake safety switch to see if it is all the way out in the returned setting. If it sticks it won't allow you to engage the cruize. However the light should go on if you press the switch on the stalk- If not there is a different issue that you would want the dealer to check with the comp.

Brake bulbs cannot be LEDs nor lower wattage than the OEM.

Actually you can run led's but you have to add a resistor so that the car doesn't think that the bulb is burnt out-

I did take the car to the dealer and they checked the lights. What they said was that when they went to change the coding, they couldnt communicate with the instrument cluster. Any ideas what that means?

sounds like maybe something disconnected in the back of the cluster? I dunno, that sounds like something hard to diagnose though, as you would have to check all the parts-
