I know a few of you got new rebuilt engines, but again suffered rms leaks. Anyone out there got a rebult engine and had no problems?
Would like to know, cause I might be getting a rebuilt engine as the service manager thinks it's useless to fix the seal again, but I'm thinkinking if another leak is inevitable from a new rebuilt engine, then I get the engine and sell the car. Dealer has a 2000 model 911 GT3 with 37,000 clicks on it that seems very tempting, just don't know if it'll work as a daily driver. Maybe a new Boxster? But that could leak as well!
Feedback appreciated

sell ur car and go for the GT3...why have to worry about leaks ever when you can have the ultimate car. just don't get the bucket seats and it should be fine as a daily driver.

Dubai: I had the engine replaced a few months back. Zero problems. It has 2500 miles on it with three track day, one autocross, and lots of spirited driving. I too have been looking into a turbo orGT3 but I would get crushed on the trade. I will wait for the C2 turbo in a couple of years. If I could get a could deal on my car I would move to another but not because of RMS worry. I would do it for the faster car.

I had the engine replace in 2002 in 2001 996. not a drop since. Car is used almost exclusively on the track. Just replace the clutch, dry as can be in there-no oil leak...
