thanks to everyone for your advice on buying a 996...it made me think about many things i hadn't considered. i am still getting my '99 996, but now i know what to look for.
i found one that i really like, low miles, carfax checks out, test drove it and runs pretty smooth. looking for an independent mechanic around los angeles to inspect it before i buy.
carfax sent me to a magoo's website where they have independent inspectors for $129, but i don't know if they would have porsche/european car specialists, or they are just general mechanics. any thoughts?
if someone knows a porsche mechanic they trust, maybe i can call them to inspect the car today (hopefully?). i appreciate your help.
thanks,
