Question Lowering 04 C2 question...

I have a very stock 04 C2. I am looking to lower it to close the wheel gap but want to retain as much ride quality as I can. I would prefer some OEM sport springs if that would work but am open to ideas.....

Most people are proponents of the Porsche M030 or X-74 and the PSS-9 (from Bilstein, I think). A cheaper but less "correct" option is to swap your original springs for shorter springs. Ride quality definitely suffers with this last approach (firsthand experience). There was a recent article in Panorama discussing the different suspension options in great detail. You may find the link and other useful information if you search the boards.

us m030 doesn't lower your car. row m030 lowers it just a tad. i have no experience with x74. pss9 is height adjustable and you can dial it such that it's not too stiff for street driving.

I really like the x-74. My sense is that most who make the change to x-74 are very happy with it. The car looks MUCH better and handles like a different car (it's that much better). The ride is stiffer, for sure, but not uncomfortably so IMHO. Check out Gert (Carnewal.com) for prices.

What has a lower drop, the X-74 or M030?

X-74 is definitely lower than the M030, but no sure of the exact measurements.

ROW M030 lowers a standard US car approximately 20 mm in front and 10 mm at rear.
X74 lowers a standard US car approximately 40 mm in front and 30 mm at rear.

All number vary by ± 10 mm.

Given your requirements, the ROW M030 would be your best bet. If ride quality wasn't an issue and you wanted more performance, you can't beat the X74 option. Look no further as everything else is either junk or way overrated.

Thanks guys....Now here is my dumb newbie question. What does ROW stand for? I have figured it out to mean the non American market but not the actual wording. The ROW M030 seams to be the way to go for me right now. How does one purchase such a set up? (making out my holiday list...)

You should always change springs and dampers. A matched set is very important.

Does this mean that you prefer X74 over PSS-9 for performance, and also how much negative camber is possible with X74. Thanks.

Yes, the X74 is a very well sorted out suspension system. Not sure how much negative camber you can get from this setup, but Porsche specifies -30' ± 15'. I am pretty sure you can get at least -1° if not more.
