Default tackling noisy steering clock spring...

So this weekend I'm going to try and fix my noisy steering spring. I have read all the posts I can find but still haven't figured out if the spring has to be replaced or if it can be lubed in some way. Any help would be appreciate.

Thanks
Patrick

Someone must know the answer to this, or at least the part number for the spring?

Repost over at Renntech.org Most technical questions on 996/986's get a better response there. Expecially part number questions (they have a specific forum for just part number request).

What kind of noise is it? You can get a noise out of the clock spring if the assembly is pushed too far back on the column. If you loosen the 8mm nut and pull the whole multifunction switch/clock spring assembly out a bit and retighten the nut you should get rid of the noise (or at least the one I experienced.)
