Rotor / Pad Replacement: Miscallaneous Parts
I'm going to replace my '99 996's front rotors and pads next weekend by following along with the April 2004 Excellence article, "996 + Boxter Brake Replacement." Even though I have no experience in this area, I'll have some knowledgable people around to back me up and this article seems pretty straight-forward. Still, according to the author, it would be a good idea to replace not just the rotors, pads, and wear sensors, but also to put in new:
1. spreader springs
2. retainer pins
3. retaining clips
4. retainer screws
Now, whatever those things are (and I have no idea as I write this), I'd like to get some new ones. So I asked the Porsche dealer to send me some, but the guy only mailed a little baggie of four screws. Maybe they are the retainer screws. He wasn't much help there honestly.
My question is, where can I get these things and how many should I be getting? Anybody who can point me in the right direction would help to ensure that my car continues to stop successfully for many years to come. Thanks!

We reuse all that stuff. I know, Porsche says..... My dealer does not even stock those parts.
Each rotor is held in place with 2 phillips screws - if those are the screws you have. Each caliper is bolted on with two 10 mm allen bolts, and Porsche says....
