Default PSE Pictures needed

Hey,

To make a long story short. I have the problem that my PSE mufflers are ratteling. When the Porsche shop took the rearbumber off, this is what they found

I sure hope they are not surposed to look like this. Can someone please post a picture of the old type PSE (like mine) where the mufflers are not hammered ?
Need those pictures so I can show them to the Porsche shop who did this work.

Thanks in advance,

Those are the original PSE for the 3.4L (you can tell by the smaller bypass pipes), they're installed now. Tell me where you want me to shoot from and I'll see if I can get a shot or two for you.

Sounds super, If you look at my pictures. I would like it from the same angles as there. That means from the opposite side from your first picture.

I can't get the same angle without taking my bumper off. Here's from underneath and behind. (I know it looks like I've been 4x4ing)

Do you really need a picture to illustrate that the dent should not be there? It isn't supposed to be there. Trust me. Looks like they had trouble installing (proper fit) and just hammered them to reshape for better fitment. IMHO, very shotty work. I wouldn't be happy.

I had the same thing happen to me (can't find the digital pics I took though). Fortunately I notcied BEFORE it was installed. I had the PSE shipped to me from another dealer and installed at the dealer here locally. When I opened up the box the PSE was all dented like it had been abused. They aplogized and sent a new one and took back to the old one. Had I just dropped off the box at the dealer without opening it and had it installed I would have never noticed. The old one looked as if it had been installed (attempted) and the customer didn't want it and it was abused in the process, then just shipped to me. Not happy! But the dealer made good by it and sent me a new. I just hate that they even did it in the first place.

Default 3.4L PSE pics

Viby, without a doubt, your muffs shouldn't be dented up like that. It looks like someone got lazy. It looks like a force job and now your heat shield has also been eaten alive! Oh, THE HORROR!

It does, however, appear that you have the 3.4L PSE as pictured in Rob's post. BTW, Rob, sweeeeeeet looking cab!

Now, back to the topic. Viby, if you purchased the car with the PSE in its current condition, then I'd try and even up with the folks that sold you the ride. If you purchased an "as is" car, then you're probably out of luck.

Anyhow, your muffs are damaged and Suncoast Porsche has a pic of how they're supposed to look:

3.4L PSE

Cheers

Hey RJFabCab

I can´t open the link ? "the page cannor be displayed" Could you post that link again ?

I have bought the car from a german Porsche dealer, on my paper it says that it have PSE on it and before I got the car from the shop I paid addition money so they could install the bypass switch.....all that is 8 month ago......and now they rattles like hell.

Viby, I corrected the link in the original message. If you still can't view it, then go to:

Suncoast Porsche online parts store

and search "sport exhaust" to pull up the file on the pre-02 996 PSE.

Regarding your rattles, it may be a combination of heat shields and/or faulty internals within the mufflers.

Are you sure they're not supposed to be like that. I found these.
