Default hardtop

I put the hardtop on this weeklend-- MUCH quieter ride. It's just a huge difference in wind/engine noise levels in the car. I was shocked how much more sedate anmd serene the ride was with the hardtop on vs. the soft top in the up position. The absence of the wind/engine really does make a huge difference.

Anyone on the fence about getting a hardtop (and I kow there are a few of you guys out there), i strongly recommend if you like a quiet ride. Good luck.

I decided against getting a hardtop bc

1. I don't think noise is a concern for me
2. Weather in CA doesn't need it
3. Hardtop makes some clunks
4. Hardtop doesn't look as good in darker colors and the rear isn't flush with the body
5. Storage is a pain unless you get a hoist

For those that live and drive in bad weather, hardtop is a must. I decided to put the money into a NAV instead. I'll also cover my car so the top will last longer.

GBG, Thanks for the report, it's what I was hoping for since I'm in search of a silver hardtop for my 01 cab. I want to buy local since the freight is over $400.

I put my hardtop on my TT Cab 2 weeks ago.
I've had more oos and ahhhs in these 2 weeks,
than I got all summer with the top down.
It looks like a Porsche with the top on , I guess.

911 cabs only REALLY look like 911s with the hardtop on

I just put my hardtop on last week and will leave it on until about March, 2005. It's a nice change in both interior noise reduction and exterior looks. Almost like having a cab and coupe in one car.
