My dad bought a brand new 928s in 1986 or 87. I took it to prom and scared the hell out of my date by getting it up to 100 on the fwy( not a good idea for results later in the evening.)

I was intoxicated by the deep howl of that engine and wish my 996 sounded the same!!!

I was so dissapointed when he later got a BMW850 I as it was just so tame and plain to drive.....

I hope to be ripping it up like you guys when i am into my 50's too..Good job having fun guys, you are only as old as you feel. I feel 60 now as we have 3 kids under 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I often see myself doing this... trying to keep up with all these kids...

It does seem strange, I agree. But the UV is so intense here, I am fair skinned and I have had a few friends come down with skin cancer. I got a lot of sun yesterday, but I don't do that often. I didn't want to get fried with UV rays every time I drive the car. It would be too tempting to drop the top.

Additionally, the UV can do numbers on the interior and the soft top. I felt that a coupe was the best way to go. It blows such cold air I oftentimes have to keep turning it down... *Homer Simpson voice* "Hmmmmm.... A.C. ... "

Why do people in NY and Minnesota have cabs? Wait - your new '05 turbo cab is probably going to be uber-beechin, so no need to answer that. I'm sure you'll completely enjoy it.

Bought my first high milage 911 when I was 22. Since then I owned a 951, a 930 and now a 996. So I sit here right in the middle of 35 keeping the 930 and using the 996 as a driver.

30--Promised myself in highschool that by the time I turn 30 I would either own or LIVE IN a Porsche--I am fortunate enough to own both a house and the car

I bought my first Porsche, 914, when I was 20 and my first 911, brand new, at 24. They were the best and almost the fastest cars available in those days. I rocked the hot rods on the fwy.
I thought about buying a 997 this year, but you know, old guard and all, just couldn't do it. I'll ltake a close look at the 997 GT3 in a year or so.

I'm 27 and made the same "before 30" promise (bought when I was 25). I'm hoping when I turn the big "3-0", I can afford a 996 Turbo.

Picked up my first Porsche at 32 (02 Boxster S), my second at 33 (88 Carrera Targa) and my third at 34 (03 Carrera). I'm now 35. Life is good.
