Oil Consumption Rate Question
I recently bought an '02 C2 CPO with 2800 miles on it. I got the car from a reputable local dealer, and in the last month, have driven about 1100 miles, some city streets, but mostly freeway or other open roads.
Since I got the car, I've added about .75 liter of oil (0W-40, as the dealer recommends). Is this excessive for what is practically a new car? Will it taper off, or can I expect to continue to add oil at this rate, assuming no other problems? The manual suggests that oil consumption should slow slightly as the car is broken in, and I've also looked here and on some of the other internet sites for info about this issue. However, most of the oil-related posts I've found have to do with catastrophic problems of one sort or another, or involve selection of oil types, etc.
Any info on the "normal" oil burn rate would be appreciated greatly. Thanks.

At 30K miles my 99 cab burns about 1 qt in 3000 miles. It used more when young but I don't remember how much. Your usage is not excessive for your mileage. If it never got any better I would not worry about it unless it was leaking out say the RMS.
