Default Spooky !!

Driving home last night I suddenly thought to myself “Hey…I must be hear 20,000 miles by now”. I don’t normally have the odometer shown on the display so I changed it to show it. When it appeared it was at 19,999 and clicked over to 20,000 within about 2 seconds! Am I in tune with my car or what!?

The past 5 months (and 5,000 miles) have been fantastic. I still look forward to driving the car – even on the most mundane of journeys. It has even reduced the number of motorcycle miles down to a pittance – probably not for the long though, the draw of the dark side is strong!

Great bunch of people on here too – its been a totally enjoyable experience.

Hey, when I got my 01 996 in 02, it was dealer demo with obviously some miles in it. The day i picked it up it had 996 miles on it right before I took it out of the dealer.

Something similarly funky happened to me on Monday. I put at least 100 miles on my car that day, and on the way back home saw the 911 and 996 odometer numbers go by. And I started thinking about what it took (and how long) to actually be in my first P-car and experience this. These last 4 weeks have been absolute pure joy! Sometimes while I'm driving I have to remind myself that it is real and no longer a dream.

Cheers.

I am around 22.5K on my Midnight Blue 03 C4S and I love every single minute I'm in it! You're definitely in tune!

If I may ask ... what tires came with your C4S and are you or have you replaced them yet? Mine came with the Contis which I have now worn down to the cords on the rears so I will be replacing them in the Spring and I keep changing my mind as to what I'll replace them with. Comments / suggestions?

Winter tires are going on this week ... do you drive yours in the winter as well?

I have the Conti's on it right now. I bought the car in June with 15k on the clock and the rear tires were shot at that time so the dealer replaced them as part of the deal. Don't know enough about the other options at this point so I am not the best person to offer you advice here I'm afraid.

I will be driving it in the winter and I am in the process of obtaining snow tires right now. I hope to have them on within the next month.

All the best!

I bought my 40th Ann. 5 weeks ago and I have over 6,000 Km. I use the car as a daily driver 4 out of 5 days. My daily commute is is 125 Km EACH way.

I drive the heck out of it because it's my first P-Car. I might settle down after a while.

I get depress when I use my other car thinking why did I spend all that money and endup once in a while in a car I don't like....but on the other hand I don't want to kill my 996 after 4 yrs.

Is putting 50,000 Km per year excessive on a P-car ?
Can you pile-on the milleage ?
At time while checking out the used P I don't see a lot of high milleage car. Seems lot's of people don't drive them that much...is there a reason for that ?

I bought a 2001 996 coupe last Summer. When I went to get the new tags, I was handed a my new Missouri tag which was 996 xxx. how weird is that. A few minutes earlier or later in line and it would have been 995 or 997.

Well...it's either that they can't take it or that the people putting those kind of miles on just keep driving them instead of selling them. I'm hoping it's the latter

And then you would have had to buy a 2005 car

I didn't know you could set the car to not show the odometer. How do you do that?

I'm getting close to 39,911 & 39,996.

I'm just going to have to buy a spare P-car for the low mileage garage queen - since I can't stop myself from driving this one ALL the time.

Well, my '97 Polar Silver Cab, my 2nd Porsche, was purchased by check. When I went to pick it up, and got the next check off the pile of blanks, it was number 0911. How about that????
