The Burj hotel is known as a 7 star hotel. It is only suites, prices start from 1,500USD per night up to 15,000USD for a 700m2 suite!
The resort where I took my pics is more reasonable, rooms range from 250USD to 400USD, season depedent.
Roads in Dubai are pretty boring actually, straight highways, pleanty of speed camera's, speed limit is 120km/h, you're ok sticking under 140km/h, one has to go outside the city to find some decent roads.
Yes there is something about red Porsches. Very flash.
And, I'm not throwing the Ferrari shirt, I am a huge F1 fan and they make the best F1 car, just like Porsche make the best road cars!!!

would a cop actually take ur lisence if they caught u blowing by over the speed limit? because the impression i have from mot of these middle eastern countries is that they're pretty tolerant of zippy cars

sounds like the situation in Singapore - lot's of cops and camera's with hefty penelities if you transgress - the oposite is true in Maylasia - 200KPH on the way to Sepang - just keep a $50 Sing in your wallet
Enjoy looks like a nice car & welcome to the group.

Hey Johannes, I saw u and ur car at the driving day at the autodrome. Nice car, very rare. I'm gonna pay 6,000dhs for the litronics, will ask Jan at the workshop how much my normal headlights are and we can work something out.
Do u have a contact number? email me at najlamin@emirates.net.ae

Hey Rhamy,
You can contact me on 050-6688169
What is the condition of your headlights like? Mine have gone a bit yellowish from dust collecting inside and would like to get rid of it. I was considering litronics as well but was put off by the AED 6000.- price and I don't want to add weight.
We are having a club committee meeting tonight and one of the items on the agenda is to decide on more trackday events at the Autodrome!
Ciao,
Johannes E.

Johannes, do u know what is a fair price for my headlights?
They look brand new, very white no yellow at all. Car has 32000km on it and is in excellent condition.
Lights don't have a scratch on them.
I sent Jan Weisser an email asking for the brand new price, based on which I can give u a good deal on mine.
I am still waiting for my Litronics, probably a week to go.
Definetely do more trackday events at the Autodrome. 4 a year is not enough!
Consider doing more expensive ones (I would pay more) that would limit number of people even more, and we can get more specialized instruction i.e how to heel and toe, more time with instructors as passengers giving tips, etc.
It was definetely a great experience for me.
