Default warranty issue

Hi all,

i recently bought my car , the 996 01 C2 from a porsche dealer in germany.
and of course it did come with a years warranty, for pre-owned cars sold by Official Porsche Centers.

few days ago there was an oil leak, in between the gearbox, and the engine body.
official porsche center in greece were i live, took of the gearbox to cure the leak, but they did found that at the lower bottom of the engine block, there is a tap, "i call it a tap' that it is being hold by 3 nuts, size 10. somebody has taken thes screws off, and put back , only one of the three, back, did replace with a non approved the second one, and finally replaced the 3rd one with a size 13!!!

do not know the reason why they have taken off these screws.

do i loose warranty?

should they fix this problem, even if the oil leak is not caused by this?

The part you're referring to sounds like the intermediate shaft seal (see the bottom of pic below). I'm guessing that somebody replaced this, and didn't do a very good job! The intermediate shaft seal sometimes leaks, and also gets replaced as part of the RMS leak repair process.

If the leak just repaired was a RMS leak, they should also replace the intermediate shaft seal, and also 7 other bolts with new, coated bolts. There's a recent TSB on this procedure.

RMS = Rear Main Seal
TSB = Technical Service Bulletin
