Default Can't open trunk,dead battery . Help!

I can"t open the trunk to get at the battery.I hooked a battery to the jumper post at the fuse box as directed by Porsche but the trunk will not release .Any ideas??

keep trying. it happened to me in my 4s and i had to find the 'perfect spot' in order to transmit current. it will work, it just might take some time fooling around with the location. good luck.

Make sure the power is in the car. Is the lights on? Then the power is going to the trunk too.

Just in case the above method does not work for you. Battery maintanier is another opition.

Ihave looked for the sweet spot on the contacts to no result there is no power going to the car..The battery in the car is completely dead.Can you trikle charge the battery from the fuse box contacts.?Is there an emergency trunk pull behind the head light?Help!!

Page 214 of the Owners' Manual details the procedure to open the hood with a dead battery.

I don't have a manual handy, but I have done this before. I used a 12 volt source and connected the negative to the door hinge, the postivie connects to a battery connector that pulls out in the fuse box. Once you do that, if the source is charged, you will have enough power to open the hood...

I own a Porsche trickle charger. Plugs into the cig. lighter and charges the battery. It has worked for me in this situation before.

Might be time to change the battery?

Make sure you're getting a good ground. Where are you attaching the negative lead to?

Alternatively, you can go through the cigarette lighter too.

CHECK THE FUSE FOR THE POWER LOCKS,OR OTHER FUSES THAT MAY EFFECT THE CIRCUIT.ALSO HOW LONG DID THE CAR SIT IDLE?

I used the latch on the door jam as per the owners manuel.The car sat for about 3 weeks.I also checked all related fuses.????

You sure the battery is not so flat that it's a short circuit?
