I am looking to purchase a '99-'01 996. I ran across an '01 996 and in the ad it claims sport package. Does anyone know what the sport package consists of? I've never seen Sport Package as an option listed on the 996.

I am looking to spend no more than 44k, any advice?

To the best of my knowledge, there was no package listed as a "sports package." You can go to autotrader.com and research the year. They list all the available option packages.

Also, under the front hood there should be a sticker about 4" x 4" with all the option codes for all the items on the car. Here's a link to decode the options:

I own a 99C2 and would recomend the 01 better engine production week. Look for engine production week of March 89 and up. The week and year are on the largest pully facing the rear bumper.
