Default B&M short shift adjustment question

After 4,000 miles my B&M short shift has developed some side play within gear. When holding the lever in gear, it moves about 1/8th inch right or left. Makes a cheap metal sound. Is this normal or can it be adjusted out?

It was dealer installed and I haven't gotten into it. Looking at the install manual does not indicate any adjustments for this.

Thanks Hammer,

Been away awhile but will ask Champion (they did the install) to check it out. I believe the mounts are tight as all the slop is within the linkage (as best as my feel can guide me).
