996Tip Durametric reset
Help Request: I have a 2002 996 tip. It was sitting for five years before i got it from an estate. It ran great on the way home and for a day. Then went into limp mode. I replace the conductor plate. All the old codes went away, but now there is an error for each solenoid. I have a durametric. I asked a guy at a local independent shop, who said he could reprogram it. Is that what I need, can I reprogram the tiptronic with my durametric?
Download the free files for the PIWIS 3, load it onto that old Windows 10 PC you or someone close to you has sitting around gathering dust, order the $40 OBDII interface cable and be able to reprogram it yourself. Search here on Rennlist for ""$75" and "PIWIS" to find plenty of write-ups.
I agree, get the PIWIS.
A Durametric cannot program a tip.
It’s almost worthless for coding a 996. (997, 991, 992 are much better supported)
I own an expensive Professional Durametric and my cheap PIWIS clone can do more.
I do prefer the Durametric for 1999 996 evaluations, but for all others I now use my PIWIS.
