Hey, I love strippers!
Over 2000 mi on mine and the only 'problem' is laxity in the front hood latch. I can push it down a bit when it is latched but no rattle. Also present on my buddies boxster. Is this a systemic issue in the 996/986 cars?
Boy this car is fast

Eric,
Thanks for the pics...
Nice choice on wheels... what are they? Do you use a different set of wheels/tires for the track?... What's your car's edition #?
Hopefully a bunch of us 40th Anniversary owners in SoCal can meet with you folks in NoCal... We should organize a fun run through the Central Coast one day.
Cheers.

The wheels are BBS RE's in stock sizes and offsets. I had heat cycled MPSC's mounted on them and used the set for track and autocross use. I replaced the stock shocks and springs with a set of PSS9's with a custom alignment. The car was so fast on the track that I couldn't stay in my seat and actually felt unsafe because of it. This lead me down a slippery slope and I now own a 78 911SC that has been prepared for track use. I still drive the car to work and I can't believe that I'm lucky enough to own such a beautiful automobile.
Let's see more 40th Anniversary pictures!!

With a few (welcome) exceptions most of these cars have around 1000 miles (some a lot less) within a 12 month period! What's going on? you do not frive your cars? A 911 needs to be driven, it should never be a garage queen.

I'm at 14,500 miles and rapidly approaching the 15,000 mile service. Problems to date include a broken passenger window switch, noisy CD player, and oil streaks on the inside of the windows. They will all get addressed during the service.

Hi all,
Bought #1440 out of downtown Fine Car in late september of this year.
I already have 8,000 after 2 months. I'm convincing myself to keep the car inside this winter as I have a pickup to get around. Most Porsche's buddies here are telling me to slap on winter tires and drive the hell out of it....not sure if that's smart. More scrared of salt, sand and pebbles that are all over the roads than anything else.
Favorite option : The Nav system.
Mods to come : x-74 (gee car looks like an SUV now), PSE or Fabspeed, Short shifter ??
Least favorite feature: the low height = lots of stone chips on hood. Don't know what's wrong with the roads here but I get a rock to hit the car once every two week....very depressing, especially that I don't tailgate.
Cheers from great white north.
