Default Brake Calipers Powder Coated "Check it out!"

Hi there,

I remember I spoke to a couple of you who wanted to see how my brake calipers came out. Well here they are.... a buddy of mine who owns his own Powder Coating business did them for me.... What do you think?

Well he did mine for a song but that's because he's a buddy. I only paid for the material and he pretty much did the labor for free....

I asked how much he's charged in the past and he said he's done them for around 60-75 a piece....

I'm not sure what's the going rate for most but these came out Niccccccce........

Very nice. I need to redo mine as the paint is pretty much flaked off the calipers where the Porsche logo is.

I was going to have them clear coat them too but the came out good I told them that they were fine.... You really got to see them in person to really enjoy them......

I have an extra set minus one left front that I should be getting pretty soon. I may do that set as well and who knows...

Isn't it important to have them clear coated for protection? - I am not sure - just asking. Yours did come out very nice.

The new labels were applied after the powder coating and I'm not really sure what they would have looked like with the additional clear but I wanted to save my buddy the added work. Besides they looked far better than any other I've seen out there. Most are painted with a two-part but you can really tell the difference when they are side by side.....

Like I mentioned I'll have a second set done pretty soon, probably in yellow, I don't think I'll be putting them on my car though..... I'll have the complete set in hand by this weekend and I'll probably drop them off for the coating next week.....

Won't the heat affect the labels without a clearcoat on them?

I asked the guy who sold me the labels and he said it shouldn't.....? I haven't put them on the car yet so I'm not 100% sure until the rubber hits the road....

Nice job. I have a set that was done similarly, with full bead blasting, powdercoated red with white Porsche logos, cleared AND rebuilt with new bleeder screws, bleeder screw boots and piston boots.

Since I sold my '99 before I got them back, and got the '04 C4S, I decided to sell them.

Default Brembo

I saw that set and I wondered "why"..... Now I know,

I didn’t' do the boots and pistons "no reason to" they were just fine... Although I did do the Brembo bleeder screws and caps along with the dampeners, retaining clips and pins....

-Good Luck with your sale

BTW: Did you know that the paint where the retaining pin is needs to be cleared prior to assembly? I also hope they did cover the POC where the break pads sit and also on the POC for the hub....
