I tried searching and mostly got results for C4's.
I'm pretty sure those answers are valid as well, but I thought I'd ask the direct question, straight-up.
So, What are the widest Wheels (i.e. 18x9, 18x11") and Tires (i.e. 235/35, 355/40) folks are running on a narrowbody 99 C2 Coupe (to be specific...)

I am running 235/35 19 front and 275/30/19 rear. Lowered w/H&R...I am going to 18's for better autocross and mountain driving performance.
Dave @ wheel enhancement is installing my 18' carrera 5 spokes next week..
I have heard that 18's are the best for narrow body performance unless running on a big fast track.
In reverse and full turn of the wheel and i get some rubbing, but thats rare situation.

Yep, they were 2250 new, but I got a set of take offs from a new car that a customer traded in for new wheels...
$2600 +tax for less than 100 mile Michelin Pilot sports ribbed.....and Silver center caps....
Best deal out there and they are very nice to deal with...

I run 18x9s in front with 245/35/18s and 18x11 with 305/30/18 in back. I've used 265s in front before but they rub quite a bit. I'm pretty sure these are the largest wheels/tires that you can use on a narrow 996.
Hope this helps.

I'm running 235/30/19 in the front w/ 315/25/19 in the rear on a 19x11 (cargraphic rims).
with yoko AVS they don't rub, but with the sport conti 2s it looks like i need to roll the lips in the rear if i start taking turns hard. Oh, and I'm running HR coilovers on the highest setting all around.
