Default RMS has been replaced in my car BUT...

do I need to worry about it going bad a second time? The original owner said it was done early on (don't recall the mileage) and I have 50k miles on the car now.

Has anyone had to have their RMS fixed more than once? My car's warranty runs out in a year.

Mine have gone out every 5- 9k. I would expect that with only one RMS in 50K you are in clean air.

Clean air? I'm in Houston, there is no such thing!

BTW... I've put almost 20k miles on the car since I've owned it.

So how does Porsche handle this? For example - if I have a RMS leak after my warranty expires will they pick up the tab or am I SOL?!

Are any of the RMS club members covered under warrantee agreements through Porsche or any other?

Depends on the country, since its up to the countrie's importer (PCNA for the states for example, not Porsche AG). In Spain (Porsche Iberica) its not covered, they wash their hands after warranty expires. I have heard it being covered in US or Germany for example though, if you ask for it.

In the UK, they "may" offer you some help theough the good-will scheme if your car "has not been tracked" and it has a full service history "through the UK dealership network". But then again they may not.....

I have yet to hear of any engines being replaced for out of warranty cars with RMS problems. They just keep wacking in RMS after RMS after RMS....until they find an excuse why they shouldn't replace it.
