Attempted Vandalism story
So I'm sitting in from of my friends cigar store having a smoke with some friends enjoying the beautufil weather, car is parked on main street in a very good neighbourhood...I happen to be admiring my car when a large Suburban drives by with 3 well dressed guys, the rear passenger leans out and flicks his lit cigarette at the open window of my car, on purpose...I mean this guy was aiming for the half open window with an angry look on his face...lucky for both parties the cigarette bounced off the window and landed on street....Unbelievable...these were not low lifes, they had shirts and ties on...I was dumbstruck...not worth the assult charge to go after someone like that, but I was pissed...
I simply cannot understand what would drive someone to do that...I can understand stealing a car...but trying to lob a lit smoke thru the window...the guy looked almost 50...incredible...
As it turns out my friends told me their stories of cigarette burns, poured coffes and milk shakes in their convertibles and open sunroofs...
What really shocked me was the age of this guy, his suit and the fact we were in one of Torontos best neighbourhoods...

So did you get the license number and report him to the police or registry? Maybe it will come to nothing, but I have seen situations where the cops haul the guy in and rain on his whole day for a-hole behavior like that.
In the city, I live in little Italy, believe me that stuff does not happen there, and if it does, the neighborhood takes care of it quietly.......

In front of the Smoking Cigar on Bayview , South of Eglington, usually a few Porsches and the odd Ferrari there on the weekend afternoon.
Unfortunately we didn't get the plate, but would recognize the car...still amazed I actually saw someone do that...what a dope

the age and the way you described his apparel is what suprises me the most.
thats why if you have a coupe, park it with everything closed no matter how sunny it is,
same with cabs, never leave the top open no matter how short you're going to be in the store, and how nice /many times you've been to that place.
it's just not worth coming back to your 80k+ car and seeing a bucket of chinese food/coffee/soda/cigarette butts/etc. (all described in stories) in your interior.
envy is a dangerous thing. people are ******** when they think/blindly know they can get away with something.

There's a small but dangerous group of people who deeply resent the success of others. Driving a Porshe can stimulate their deep seated resentment. It's best to ignore these people, and take appropriate precautions so that it will be difficult to for them to damage your property or worse yet cause you physical harm.

I just got email from a rennlister who has moved back from California to his home country in Holland. He freighted his 996 back with him.
After he got it back he had problems with his tail and he emailed me cos
I had similar problems before and he thought I might be able to tell him how to fix it. I suggested the fix but here is his reply.
Can you believe this crap! Who would do such a thing? The world's gone mad

Berny,
I followed your suggestion, however it did not solve the problem.
Later I understood why. It was an awful discovery...I mentioned that my car was on transport from LA to Netherlands, and somebody at the transport storage office must have opened my hood, and cut about 6 cables of that run all the way in the corner.
This is pure sabotage...I was very surprised to discover this, and still cannot believe anybody would actually do this
It must be some jealous type or something, who knows and I will probably never know.
Anyway, I got that fixed and all is working fine now

You can dress 'em up , but ya' can't take'em out!!!
A pig with a suit on is still a pig!!
That being said... there are undoubtedly some people of good character, even in the worst places and neighborhoods.

I do not understand why people do some of the things that they do. I once came back to my car to find that somebody has left chewing gum on the side window. Not just placed it there, but smeared it right along the edge of the weather stripping so that when the window went down it would catch in the felt and "gum" up the works. This was also in a nice residential neighborhood while parked in a driveway.

I'm in that area fron time to time as well Carbon. Sad to hear. Some people are just born losers and figure if they can't have something pretty, neither can anyone else.
A friend who lives in a really nice neighbourhood had his Ducati pushed over (lucky his Porsche wasn't outside). He put it out again as "bait", waited with a few "friends",and apparently the slime-bag that did it won't be going anywhere without a wheelchair for a good, long time.
