Yeah, its night and day. Who would have though that 3mm would be that noticable!

I used to use a hardtop (on my alfa romeo spider but...) I had learned to always put the top on , on a sunny day, and to secure it relatively tightly but not too hard, and then to drive it for the day under the sun, and tighten it again. storage, especially vertically, can sometimes warp the fiberglass just slightly, and i found it was better to do than , when i first got it, how one wants to overtighten it while cold and warped. You will find it kind of settles together after a bit of time, and its even good to revisit it about a week later for final tightening to last the winter season. hopefully thats helpful.
