Default Airbag Control System - Power Supply Code 3 Error

Hi,

I ran a diagnostics on my 2004 C4S and noticed that I get a Airbag Control System - Power Supply Code 3 Error.

The airbag light is not on nor have I ever seen it on.

Any ideas as to what this could be and more importantly, does this mean that my airbag doesn't work ?

Thanks

Strange because the battery was changed 2 years ago and was charged during winter storage. I don't notice any weird dips in voltage either so I don't see how it could be the battery or alternator.

Are the control units known to fail?

When was the last time you ran diagnostics? Is it possible the code has been sitting there x 2 years?

If no airbag light on (and you know the light works) then my guess is transient voltage drop - who knows why - or an intermittent grounding issue.

The internal airbag test is when the light comes on then goes out with ignition. If airbag light goes out after starting and doesn't come back on, internal checks are good and there should not be an issue with functionality, at least from the perspective of the ECU.

Can you clear the code? If so I would just monitor.

I cleared all error codes and ran a new diagnostic. Only one error popped up that was related to the passenger mirror.

I didn't drive yesterday, but will today. I can run a new diagnostic tomorrow and see if anything pops up again. It could have been an old error that never was cleared.

I'll keep you posted.
