Cab clamshell trim loose and squeaky FIXED!
Cross posting as I initially found the solution to my problem in the 997 forum.
i have had a squeak from the rear of my car for more than a year now. I figured it was top mounts or some sort of bushing somewhere, or a joint in the roof somewhere. It has eluded me and I didn’t wanna spend the money on it.
turns out it was this loose piece of trim around the clamshell that just needed pushed back into place.
Oh man! How freaking satisfying to find the source of a squeak and to not have to replace a part or spend a dime. Drives quiet quiet quiet! Ohh man what a relief to not have that squeak anymore. Sounded like a creaky old metal bed frame. Totally thought it was gonna be expensive and a pain to sort fix.
ahhhhhh. Scratching an itch like that is such a great feeling. I can only hope that someone out there has the same issue and can get the same relief
